GeoSnap Privacy Policy
GeoSnap (数形智拍) is a photo-based problem-solving app for middle and high school students. This policy explains what information GeoSnap collects, how we use and share it, and how we protect minors.
Information We Collect
Account Information
You can register with an email and password, an email verification code, or Sign in with Apple. We collect your email address; if you register with a password we store only a salted hash of it (we never see the plaintext); if you use Sign in with Apple we store the anonymous user identifier Apple provides. You may also set a nickname.
Photos of Problems and Proofs
When you use photo-solving or photo-based proof checking, the images you capture or select are uploaded to our servers to be recognized, solved, and verified.
Age Information
To comply with rules protecting minors, we ask you to confirm your age range and record when you did so. Users under 14 must obtain a guardian's consent before using the app.
Subscription and Credits
Your subscription status, expiry date, and credit balance. Payments are handled by Apple; we never receive your card or other payment details.
How We Use Your Information
Core Features
To recognize problems, generate step-by-step solutions and explanatory animations, and verify your proofs.
History
Your problems, photos, and solutions are saved so you can review them later (the History feature).
Account & Subscription
To sign you in, grant and settle credits, and manage subscription entitlements.
No Advertising
We do not use your personal data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
Third-Party Sharing
AI Providers
To recognize, solve, and verify, the problem and proof images you upload — and related text — are sent to third-party large-language-model services for processing, including Moonshot (Kimi), DeepSeek, and Zhipu (GLM). This data is used only to generate your solution and is governed by each provider's privacy policy.
Apple
In-app purchases, subscriptions, and Sign in with Apple are handled by Apple. See Apple's privacy policy for details.
Cloud Storage
Images and solving data are stored in Alibaba Cloud Object Storage (OSS) and our database, located in mainland China.
Login verification codes are delivered to your email address through an email service.
Data Storage & Security
Encryption
Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Retention
Your account information, photos, and solving records are retained while you use the service so we can provide the History feature.
Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, under Me → Account & Security → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes all data associated with it, including your photos and solving records. If you need help, contact support@byutech.cn.
Protection of Minors
Intended Audience
GeoSnap is primarily intended for middle and high school students, who may be minors. We ask you to confirm your age range when you register.
Guardian Consent
Users under 14 must obtain a guardian's consent before using the app.
Guardians
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors beyond what is needed to provide the service. If you are a guardian and believe your child provided information without your consent, contact support@byutech.cn and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Access & Correction
You can view and update your account information, such as your nickname.
Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app, under Me → Account & Security → Delete Account.
Withdraw Consent
You can stop using the relevant features and request deletion of your data.
